Situated at the base of Cathedral Cove and only 5 minutes to Hot Water Beach, Hahei offers Scuba Diving & Snorkeling trips both within the stunning Marine Reserve plus the outer islands, pinnacles and volcanic coastline outside of the Marine Reserve boundaries.
Established in 1992, Cathedral Cove Dive & Snorkel is locally owned and operated and is the longest operating dive business in the area. Our local under water knowledge of the area is unmatched.
Coromandel Dive & Snorkel Tours
- We are situated right at Hahei Beach, with many of the dive sites only a 10 minute boat ride.
- Bring the family and all your friends on one of our Specialised Snorkel Boat Tours – fun for the whole crew with us providing full long arm/long leg wetsuits for warmth, high quality snorkel gear, floating aides for non-swimmers and a full one hour in the water checking out the fish, rays and crayfish living inside the Te Whanganui-O-Hei Cathedral Cove Marine Reserve.
- Scuba Diving – Single tank diving means you still have time to hit low tide Hot Water Beach, stroll to the Cove or just spend time relaxing with friends & family at lovely Hahei Beach. There is around 1 ½ hours back on shore for lunch, between trips.
- New and top quality Rental Aqualung Scuba gear.
- Optional Reserve or non Reserve diving. We can’t promise anything here but definitely can put you in a spot where your chances may run high for a crayfish dinner!!
- Well trained friendly staff, small groups with personal service. We welcome individual divers and/or Groups.
Coromandel Dive Trips
Just over 2 hours drive south of Auckland lies some of New Zealand’s finest scenery – both above and under the water. The islands, pinnacles and volcanic coastline of the Cathedral Cove and Hahei area offers divers, snorkelers and sightseers untouched and breathtaking scenery.
Dive Trips are running everyday throughout the summer, sea & weather permitting, and many days through the winter. All level of divers welcomed and catered for. The “Mekong Rose” and “Blondini” are perfect for all aspects of diving. Charters welcome.

Coromandel Snorkel Trips
The Snorkel Trips are ideal for the non certified diver to get into the water under the guidance of one of our instructors and experience the under water world without doing the full PADI course. Book on as a single snorkeler or, better still, get a group together and full the boat. We provide top quality gear, full warm suits, floatation aides for non swimmers and a guide. Purpose built snorkel boat “Blondini”.
