Our separate apartments are available with 2 or 4 bedrooms. For larger groups wishing to stay together, both apartments can be booked to provide a total of 6 bedrooms with shared access through the courtyard.
Each apartment is designed to be your home away from home, complete with lounge, dining, and kitchen areas for relaxation, and laundry facilities for convenience. All bedrooms feature either queen or split-king size beds and private ensuites.
Both apartments offer secure bike storage and share a private decked courtyard, making it the perfect spot to unwind or catch up after a day of exploring the Nelson region.
The Matrons Room – 2 Bedroom Apartment (sleeps 4)
Originally built for the School Matron, this space has been modernized into a two-bedroom unit with updated amenities. Parking is available, with access via a ramp to the right of the car park. The laundry area also serves as a workshop, and secure bike parking is conveniently located inside the foyer.
The School House – 4 Bedroom Apartment (sleeps 8)
This four-bedroom apartment occupies the original 1860 floor area of the school building, giving it significant historical and archaeological value. The kitchen, dining, and lounge areas feature exposed roof trusses that have only recently been revealed after being hidden behind lowered ceilings for over a century. The dining table is crafted from recycled heart-Rimu framing. The front door offers ride-in access, providing secure bike parking and charging next to the laundry, which also serves as a workshop space.
Combined School House – 6 Bedrooms (The School House + The Matrons Room) sleeps 12
For larger groups, combining the two apartments offers six double/twin rooms in one location, ensuring complete privacy in the courtyard.
