Located just 15 minutes from central Tauranga, Poripori Homestead has three accommodation spaces for up to 12 people, and a venue space for up to 40 people.
Accommodation Kaimai Tauranga
Poripori Homestead offers accommodation in three locations on the property for individuals, families and groups.
A three and a two bedroom apartment/house, and a one bedroom cottage. The 3 and 2 bedroom apartments are part of the main house, though self contained. The cottage is detached.
The property has a garden, (unheated) swimming pool, tree house, fruit trees, and animals (sheep, chickens, ducks, a cat and a dog). There are also many things to do in Tauranga whilst you enjoy your stay.
The Cottage (1 bedroom, up to 2 people)
The cottage was moved onto the property several years ago and offers a smaller, quaint accommodation suitable for a single person or a couple. You will be self sufficient with a bedroom and en-suite and fully functioning kitchen and living area.

The Bach (2 bedrooms, up to 4 people)
Our ‘Baching’ end of the house offers simple place top stay. Two bedrooms, a bathroom, laundry, kitchen and living/dining. This apartment dates from the early 1900s and was brought onto the property in the mid 1900s to create a bigger overall Homestead. While part of the main house structure, you will have sole access to the Bach.

The Homestead (3 bedrooms, up to 6 people)
The Homestead is the original house built on this site in the early 1900s. It was the main house for a farm that went to the hills you can see behind the property as it stands today. It has three bedrooms, one en-suite and one bathroom, a kitchen, and laundry in addition to the spacious living/dining areas. While part of the main house structure, it is yours alone during your stay here.

Lower Kaimai Venue Hire Tauranga
Poripori Homestead provides a venue space where you can connect, be creative and productive with minimal distraction.
In your breaks, walk in the garden, be amused by the animals, or just let your mind mull over what you have been engaged in.
Meeting in a rural environment, 15-20 minutes from Tauranga city centre, 7 minutes from Tauranga Crossing, allows you to avoid the hustle bustle of city life to concentrate on the task at hand, without needing a great deal of time spent travelling.
We also offer accommodation (subject to availability) if you have an event that requires a multi day booking and you would also like to stay onsite – please indicate this in your enquiry. There are plenty of things to do in Tauranga too!

Tea and coffee facilities available and are included in the base price. Catering for meals can be arranged on request and is in addition to the base price.
Poripori Homestead Location
Poripori Homestead is located at the base of the Kaimai Hills on 1.3 hectares (3.2 acres) of land within 7-10 minutes from Tauranga Crossing (the nearest supermarket and shops/cafe), 15-20 minutes from Tauranga CBD, and 20-30 minutes from Mt Maunganui and Papamoa beaches.
- McLaren’s Falls and Park is a 5 minutes away.
- The Kaimai ranges have several walking tracks for the more active.
- Hobbiton, the set for Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, and the TECT all terrain adventure park are both less than a 40 minute drive.
- Other local activities include cycling, rafting, kayaking, fishing – fresh or salt water, hunting, shopping, dining.
- Tauranga airport is 20-30 minutes away with Rotorua and Hamilton International Airports being 1 and 1.5 hours away respectively. Auckland is 2.5 hours away.
