Cold Smoked Salmon
The cool water flows from the mountains to Waituna Creek and through the salmon ponds, providing a clean habitat for the salmon in which in turn yields excellent flavoured, firm fleshed fish that are naturally free from disease.
No antibiotics are used at any stage.
The salmon farming and processing side of the operation is very simple, based on commonsense principals of cleanliness and hygiene and low stocking density to produce the best quality & freshness.
From these fish we are able to produce our slow cured, premium Cold Smoked Salmon

About The Salmon Farm Cafe
There is fresh salmon on the West Coast! Just one hour’s drive from Fox Glacier Village or the Haast Township you will find Glacier Country’s best kept secret. Nestled in the Paringa Valley is the Salmon Farm Cafe.
The salmon ponds are on site just below the Cafe balcony, surrounded by native forest and farmland. Feeding the fish is a meditative experience and you can see why fish ponds are a part of many Zen gardens.
The open plan cafe and gift shop really has local roots. The wood floors and cafe counter were made from a single black pine (matai) tree from the Condon family farm. While the stone around the hand crafted fireplace was sourced from Graham’s family farm in Arrowtown.
Fresh and smoked salmon reared in the unspoiled waters of Waituna Creek is wrapped and ready to be transported to your kitchen. If you are not a natural-born ‘Foody’ capable of creating gourmet masterpieces Brenda and her team also have salmon delights in the fully licensed cafe.
You really will feel well fed and right at home, even if your real ‘home’ is on the other side of the world.
