Northland’s Living Village & Māori Cultural Experience
Ngāti Rēhia invites you to Te Ahurea, an extraordinary Māori cultural and historical experience that weaves together the past, present, and future on a journey through time.
Te Ahurea is located on one of New Zealand’s most historically significant sites for both Māori and early European settlement.
Nestled in the scenic Kerikeri Basin, alongside the historic Kororipo Pā (Hongi Hika’s fortified enclosure), the Kerikeri Stone Store, and Mission House, Te Ahurea is an interactive pā site that offers a captivating journey back in time.

Te Ahurea invites you to explore the village at your own pace, wander through lush native bush, bask in the peacefulness of our gardens, delight in the songs of native birds, listen to the soothing flow of Te Awa o Ngā Rangatira (the River of Chiefs), and take in the stunning beauty of Kororipo Heritage Park.
Upon arrival at Te Ahurea, our friendly staff will warmly welcome you and provide a self-guided tour map and information. From there, you’re free to explore the village, wander through native bush, and stroll through our gardens.
