Victorian Hotel Accommodation in the Heart of Historic Kumara, West Coast NZ
The Theatre Royal Hotel is the West Coast`s only fully restored gold miners’ hotel, and once world-renowned theatre.
Whether you are a history buff, an intrepid explorer, a Kiwi neighbour, a discerning traveller, or fun lover, the Theatre Royal Hotel knows how to look after you!
We invite you to come and discover the colourful past of Kumara, which featured the Last Great Gold Rush and was the home of N.Z.’s longest serving Premier, Richard John Seddon.
Located halfway between Greymouth and Hokitika we are the perfect stopping off point on the way through to Arthurs Pass (or once you come over from the east coast).
If you are travelling along the West Coast Wilderness cycle trail, Kumara is the perfect place to base yourself. Packed lunches and lockable bike sheds are available at the Hotel.
A visit to Kumara puts you right on the doorstep of some iconic West Coast attractions and is the perfect place to base yourself for a day or two.
